Kaoko Bush Lodge is the ideal accommodation stopover from which to explore the wild beauty and diversity of Damaraland and Kaokoland. The lodge is just 8 km from Kamanjab, en-route to Opuwo. Whether you stay a day or two to discover the unique rock engravings and cultural villages of Kamanjab or plan to head further north, at Kaoko Bush Lodge you will be ensured a comfortable stay.

Kaoko Bush Lodge offers accommodation in cozy private chalets and convenient camping facilities.

The recently renovated chalets with traditional thatch roofs and built with Namclay bricks known for their unique dusky colours, are set against the Mopane tree-dotted landscape of the Kunene. Generously spaced, each chalet has a private verandah where you be able to read or unwind in peace. Most of our 8 chalets have comfortable twin beds, we also have 2 family units that can sleep 3 or 5 guests. There is ample safe and secure parking in front of each chalet.

Our campsites are laid out under shady trees, each with their own facilities right on hand. In the late afternoon we will light the ‘donkey’ traditional wood-fired boiler to make sure you have ample hot water for your shower.

A daily breakfast buffet can be enjoyed in the on-site restaurant, and lunch and dinner are available on request.

The lodge is situated inside its own game park with more than 18 different species of game and over 200 bird species, many indigenous to the area, that can be viewed at the waterhole just 30 m away from our restaurant and bar. The lodge also has a swimming pool for cooling down after a full day of exploring. A large solar rig means that the lodge is completely off-the-grid and water is sourced from uncontaminated underground springs.
